Constance K. Quillen, 91, of Gettysburg, PA, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025. Born in Vernon, DE, on December 21, 1933, to Mabel Luff and Earl Knotts, Constance was the third child of six: Elaine, Earleen, Clifford, Richard, and Harry. She was married at 18 to Frank Fay Quillen on November 4,1952. She graduated from Harrington High School in Harrington, DE, in 1951 where she played field hockey and was a drum majorette in the marching band. For many years she managed the Milford, DE, branch of the Farmer’s Bank and held the position of president in the Kent County Chapter of the American Institute of Banking. Later in her career she was employed by both Girard and BNY Mellon banks in Philadelphia, PA, as a personal banker. Throughout her life, Constance held a strong passion for both business and art. She was an avid painter, gardener, enjoyed singing, classical music, trips to Rehoboth Beach, and her word puzzles.
Constance is survived by her loving children Cora Renée Quillen-Knox (David Knox) and Thea Quillen as well as her grandchildren, Theo Knox, August Quillen Knox, and Haley Quillen-Knox, her brother Harry Knotts, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her former husband Frank on December 1, 2024, as well as her sisters and two brothers.
She will be interred at Gracelawn Memorial Park in New Castle, DE, on Friday, September 26, 2025, alongside many other members of the Quillen family.
