Connie Kay Morgan

HOUSTON - Connie Kay Morgan passed away on Wed., Jan. 17, 2018 in the Atlantic Shores Nursing Home in Millsboro.
Connie was born in Milford, on Aug. 21, 1955 to Franklin and Pauline Minner Morgan who both predeceased her.
She lived her entire life in Houston and was employed by the State of Delaware Motor Vehicle Dept. in Dover and retired from there in 2007 after 30 years of service.
Following in her father's footsteps, she served as the Mayor of the Town of Houston for several years.
She was a member of the Houston Vol. Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and served in various offices and assisted with their functions as long as she was able to do so. She also had served as an officer of the Kent County Vol. Fire Companies Auxiliary.
She was a dedicated member of the Houston United Methodist Church for many years, participated in their activities and also sang in the choir.
Connie and her mother worked as show ticket takers for a security company at the Delaware State Fair for several years. She later had the opportunity to travel with her mother to various golf tournaments where they also worked in a security capacity.
Services will be held Monday, Jan. 22, 2018 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front Street, Milford, where friends may call after 12 p.m. Burial will be at Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica, where she will be laid to rest alongside her parents, Frank and Polly Morgan, grandparents, Joseph and Laura Minner and Aunt, Dorothy Minner.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Houston U.M. Church, 235 Broad St., P.O. Box 43, Houston, DE 19954 or the Houston Vol. Fire Co., Ladies Auxiliary, P.O. Box 123, Houston, DE 19954.
