GEORGETOWN - Clifton 'Dickie' T. Pearson passed away peacefully at Beebe Medical Center on Monday Aug. 1, 2016. Dickie was born in Hartly, to the late Thomas and Pearl (Thompson) Pearson. He was a crane operator, a job he thoroughly enjoyed, and was a member of the retirees club of the Local 542 Union of Operating Engineers. He was also a member of the Walter L. Fox American Legion Post #2 and a past member of the Camden Wyoming Moose Lodge #203. He enjoyed travelling in his motor home and spending the winters in Florida. He also attended Crossroad Community Church. In addition to his parents, Dickie was preceded in death by his brothers, John, Robert, and Thomas Pearson; sisters, Grace Bezerics, Myrtle Cox, and Lillian Lucas. He is survived by his wife, Beatrice (Eather) Pearson; daughters, Dianne Halpern (Joel) and Daneen Skabla; step-children, William Moore (Judy), Nancy Abbate (Angelo), Robert Moore (Susan), Lisa Hignutt (Mark), and Richard Moore (Rachelle); sisters, Lulu Durkin and Frances Pearson; brother, Donald Pearson, Sr.; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Friday, Aug. 5, 2016 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, DE, 19947 where friends may call after 12 noon. Interment will be at Union Cemetery, Georgetown. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dickie's memory can be made to the charity of your choice.
