DOVER - Claude W. Hall, 89, of Dover, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011, at the Milford Hospice Center. He was born on May 8, 1921, in Milford, to the late Raymond and Inez Hall. Claude was both a dairy and grain farmer in his younger years but in 1954 he went to work as a salesman for Suburban Propane Gas Company, Dover, where he remained for 30 years. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, sales, country music, and spending time every morning with his friends during coffee hour. Claude was dearly loved by his family and friends and will be truly missed by all who knew him. Claude was preceded in death by two brothers, John Earl Hall and Raymond D. Hall, Jr.; a sister, Myrtle Alice Wilson; a son, Clarence (Bud) Payson III; and a granddaughter, Sharon Lynn Stotler. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Frances Jean Hall; a daughter and her husband, Barbara and Robert Nagyiski of Clayton; a daughter and her husband, Carolyn and David Forand of Wyoming; a son, Claude W. Hall, Jr. of Centreville, Md.; a daughter and her husband, Margaret and Senator David McBride of New Castle; a daughter, Shelly Bailey of Dover; two sisters, Anna Mae Salevan of Dover, and Emma Catherine Neeman of Camden; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services will be 1 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011, at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may call two hours earlier. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
