SEAFORD - Clarence Leonard Wingate, age 86, of Seaford, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011, in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital. Born in Laurel, the son of the late Wila Mae Wilkerson and William Wingate, he was a machine operator at Dupont Company in Seaford before retiring. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Emma Ann Bowers Wingate; five nephews, Roger Tubbs of Seaford, Alan Tubbs of Clarksburg, N.J., Fred Ellingsworth of Laurel, Vernon Ellingsworth of Millsboro, and Danny Phillips of Farmville, Va.; two neices, Kathy and Sandy Phillips of Farmville, Va. Services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, in Watson-Yates Funeral Home, Front and King Streets, Seaford, where friends may call from noon until 1 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Laurel. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Delaware Chapter, Wilmington De 19801.
