Clarence H. Lynch Jr.

GLENDALE, Ariz. - Clarence H. Lynch Jr., 85, of Glendale, died Feb. 12, 2011, in Goodyear. He was born Oct. 8, 1925 in Milford, Del., the second child of five born to Clarence Sr. and Hattie Lynch. At the age of 16 he enlisted in the US Navy shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor. He was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War, retiring from the USAF in 1964. He then worked for Lockheed Aircraft on the F-104 German Pilot Training Program at Luke AFB, AZ until his retirement in 1983. He is survived by his sons, John R. Lynch of Milford, Del., Dewey C. Lynch of Milford, Del., and Clarence (Henry) Lynch III of Goodyear; step-son, Dennis Thomas of Concho; stepdaughters, Patsy Lawton of Easton, Md., Barbara Smith of Federalsburg, Md., and Denise Scott of Chandler; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; his sisters, Irene Fitzgerald and Iris Chaney of Delaware; nieces, nephews, and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Sr. and Hattie Mae; two grandsons, John R. Lynch II and John Blake Lynch; brother, Ralph Lynch; and sister, Mary Phyllis Kreisher. A visitation will be held Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front Street, Milford. A graveside service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. at Milford Community Cemetery, 300 S. Rehoboth Blvd. Milford, Del. Memorial contributions suggested to: Hospice of The Valley, 13575 W.
