Clara P. Polito, 78

SMYRNA - Clara P. Polito, of Smyrna, passed away at home Friday, Jan. 2, 2009. She was 78. Mrs. Polito was born March 4, 1930, in Felton, the daughter of the late Joseph and Sophie Furdunic Procko. She worked for the state of Delaware as manager of the canteen in the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill in Smyrna for 30 years before retirement. Mrs. Polito was a member of the American Legion David C. Harrison Post 14 Ladies Auxiliary and Capitol Baptist Church in Dover. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Martin Pryor; a brother, Walter Procko; and three sisters, Mary Todd, Florence Green, and Elanore Hollenger. She is survived by her husband, Kelly Polito; four sons, Martin "Mike" Pryor and his wife Cheryl of Smyrna, Robert Pryor and his wife Karen of Malvern, Pa., Ronald Pryor and his wife Theresa of Smyrna, and David Pryor and his wife Lanell, also of Smyrna; three daughters, Sharon Pryor of Smyrna, Frances Lynn Rowley and her husband John of Dover, and Kelly Marie Polito, at home; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, in the American Legion Ambulance Hall, 107 West Glenwood Ave., Smyrna. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by Faries Funeral Directors and Crematorium Inc., 29 South Main Street, Smyrna. Letters of condolence may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com.
