Clara M. Harrington

LINCOLN - Clara M. Harrington, a resident of Lincoln, Del. since 1942, died January 12, 2012, at home. Mrs. Harrington was born August 19, 1923, in Milford, daughter of the late Clara (Calloway) Lyons and William W. Lyons II. Mrs. Harrington worked 34 ½ years at the A&P Supermarket in Milford, retiring April 1, 1983. For many years she operated Cee & Kay Ceramic Studio both on Route 1 and at her home in Lincoln. She belonged to the Milford Senior Center, Harrington Senior Center, Milford Historical Society, and for over 25 years was a member of the Mary C. Pyle Rebekah Lodge #17 in Milford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Solomon 'Sammy' Harrington in 1973; and by an infant son in 1950; two sisters; and one brother. She is survived by one sister, Alverta Purcell; many nieces and nephews; friends and neighbors. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday January 18, 2012, and a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday January 19, 2012, at Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front Street, Milford. Interment will be at the Milford Community Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Cedar Neck United Methodist Church, Milford, DE. or to Debbie's Fund, 794 Canterbury Road, Milford DE 19963.
