Clara Helen Jones

MILFORD - Clara "Clare" Helen Jones, 85, passed away peacefully Feb. 8, 2011, at the Delaware Hospice, Milford. Clare was born to Henry and Clara Hemming, of Waldorf, Md., on Feb. 26, 1925. She was a nurse anesthetist graduate of Providence Hospital in Washington, D.C. It was as a nurse that Clare met her devoted husband of 62 years, Norman Paul Jones, M.D. She was a loving wife, homemaker, and mother of five children. Clare was also a talented artist and an avid gardener. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister. Clare is survived by her husband and five children, Mary Kirsch and her husband Keith, Paula Hibbert, and her husband Peter, Barbara Karsnitz, and her husband James, Bernard Jones, and Stephen Jones and his wife Marie. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Patrick Karsnitz, Michael Karsnitz, and Katie Kirsch, as well as her siblings Bernard, Herman, and John Hemming. A Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 11, 2011, at Holy Cross Church, 631 S. State Street, Dover. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Delaware Hospice, 911 South DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19904. Norman and her family wish to convey their sincere gratitude for the outpouring of concern and sympathy expressed by her friends and fellow Holy Cross parishioners.
