Christine Joyce Diehl DOVER - Christine Joyce Diehl of Dover, Del. died Friday, July 23, 2010 in her home. She was 52. Mrs. Diehl was born in Chicopee, Mass. to the late Charles and Eufigenia Silva Rego on September 4, 1957. She and her husband, Richard, moved to the Dover area in 1983. She was a bookkeeper and tax preparer for Terry Kreiser and Associates in Felton, Del. where she had worked for about ten years. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and loved camping, photography, swimming, boating, walking in the country or on the beach, and was an avid reader and music lover. Mrs. Diehl was preceded in death by her parents; her mother in March of this year and a brother, Mark Rego in May, also of this year. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Richard Diehl; a son, Matthew I. Diehl of Dover; a daughter, Nicole L. Laird and her husband Nicholas of Danville, Pa.; a brother, David Rego of Portland, Conn; two sisters Mary Van Wert and her husband Larry of Chicopee, Mass. and Laurie Cote also from Chicopee. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Holy Cross Catholic Church 631 S. State St., Dover, DE 19901. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m., Tuesday evening, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Rd., Dover, DE 19901. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions be sent to the American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way, suite 205, New Castle, DE 19720. Letters of condolence may be sent and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
