(2/17/2004 - 10/1/2014) MILFORD - Christina Renee Stevens was born on Feb. 17, 2004. Up until her birth she was expected to be a boy, whose name would be William; however upon learning that she was a girl, her grandmother, Ethel D. Stevens, named her Christina Renee, which means "Follower of Christ Reborn." Christina attended E.I. Morris and Banneker Elementary Schools in the Milford School District. She achieved honor roll throughout her school tenure and played the clarinet in the band. She was also a proud member of the Milford Boys and Girls Club and swam for the swim team for numerous seasons and sang in the choir. She attended Mt. Zion AME Church in Ellendale. Christina was the fourth of five children, and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her favorite color was purple. She loved to draw, sing, write stories, and watch movies. Christina was very sensitive, inquisitive, and had a way of making people laugh and laugh hard. All of her family will most remember and miss her smiles and hugs, which she offered everywhere she went. Christina was known to her family as "Mina" or "Stina." She is survived by her parents, Tara Cherie Stevens and Timothy Horsey; grandfather, Anthony G. Harmon; siblings, Alexander Jackson II, Mairiah E. Jackson, Kristopher D. Jackson, Racheal M. Stevens; half-siblings, Tamisha L Batten, Brittnay Horsey, Ashley Horsey, Destiny Pabon and Timothy Horsey Jr.; an aunt, Tasha Marie Stevens; a cousin, Parris A. Stevens, and a host of great-aunts and great-uncles, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Ethel D. Stevens, with whom she shared a special bond. Be comforted friends and family. 1 Thessalonians 4:14, 16-17 (KJV): 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Sleep in Christ, Christina! Until we meet again and are ever with the Lord. Hugs and Kisses, Sweet Princess. A Celebration of Christina's Life will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Banneker Elementary School Auditorium at 449 North Street in Milford, DE 19963, immediately followed by a repast.
