DOVER - Christian A.D. MacPherson of Dover, died Monday, Sept. 6, 2010. Christian was born Mar. 18, 1961 in Newfoundland, Canada to Robert MacPherson and Helga Chalupa MacPherson. He served in the United States Air Force for 8 years in administration. Christian worked as an insurance associate for CNC Insurance in Dover for 20 years in the commercial insurance industry. He was a history buff and was a wonderful cook and loved to cook for his family and friends. Christian had a passion for soccer and coached in the youth soccer league. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Dover, where he was a Lector. He was League County Commissioner for "CDSA" and one of the founding members of the Philadelphia Union MLS team. Christian was an enthusiastic Philadelphia sports fan. The most precious thing to him was spending time with his family especially his children, Sam and Zach. Christian is survived by his parents, Robert and Helga MacPherson of St. Petersburg, Fla.; his wife of 28 years Mary "Mimi" Kessel MacPherson of Dover; two children, Zachary and Samantha MacPherson both at home; brother, Erik MacPherson and his wife Hallie of St. Pete Beach, Fla; sister, Pamela Vesterman of Ellendale, Del; mother in law, Mary Rose D'Annunzio of Dover; brother in law, Scott Kessel of Magnolia; several nieces and nephews, and a host of special aunts and uncles. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held noon Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State Street, Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Odd Follows Cemetery, Camden. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to: CDSA P.O. Box 1334 Dover, DE 19903 or to Holy Cross Church, 631 S. State Street, Dover 19901. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guest book signed at torbertfuneral.com.
