Cheryl C. Ockels

MILTON - Cheryl C. Ockels passed away at home on Friday, Dec. 16, 2016. She was born to Roland and Betty (Shockley) Conaway in Laurel on Sept. 11, 1956. Cheryl worked at Ockels Farms as the Office Manager. She was on the State S.S.A. Board, enjoyed cooking and especially loved taking care of her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a brother, Darrell Conaway; and a granddaughter, Grace Stevenson. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Gary Ockels; children, Andrew Ockels and his wife, Christina, and Cherie Bradley; brother, Duane Conaway and his wife, Diane; nephews, Christopher and Kevin; grandchildren, Kenneth Stevenson, III, Alizabeth Stevenson, Taylor Ockels, Rylee Ockels and Andrew Ockels, Jr. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton. A time of visitation will be from 12 noon until 2 p.m. Interment will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Milton. Memorial donations can be sent to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963 or the Ronald McDonald House, 1901 Rockland Rd., Wilmington, DE 19034.
