Charles was born to Stanford and Ella Johns on December 8, 1951. He was raised in Delaware getting his education from Booker T. Washington & William Henry. In life, he worked many years at Papen Farms then switched to driving for Eastern Waste Industries and finally Delaware Lumber before retiring.
Many of the things he enjoyed included fishing & crabbing, gardening, cookouts, shooting pool and playing cards with his friends and family. He also loved to watch old movies & TV shows as well as his favorite team, the Philadelphia Phillies.
Charles was preceded in death by both his parents; his wife of 34 years, Lougonda Sue Johns; five brothers: Albert, John, Joseph, Mark and William; seven sisters: Anna Mae, Audrey, Daisy, Darlene, Edna, Elimar and Ella.
Charles is survived by his current fiancé, Tracey Walker; two children from his first marriage: daughter, Dottie Hamilton; granddaughter, Leticia Hamilton with three children of her own; grandson, Joseph Smith; son, Bryan Chamberlain (Mary – Angela, James and Charles), six great grandchildren, one great-great-grandson. He is also survived by three brothers: Stanford, Philemon and Dillon; one sister, Jeraline with a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services will be private.
