Charles Walter Moore Sr.

Charles Walter Moore Sr., 93 HARRINGTON - Charles Walter Moore Sr., of Harrington, died Monday, April 5, 2010, at Christiana Hospital. He was 93. Mr. Moore was born Nov. 5, 1916, in Price, Md., to the late G. Klein Moore and Mary G. Voshell Moore. He worked for 20 years as a salesman for Sears and then in Real Estate where he owned and operated his own Real Estate company Countryside Realtors. Mr. Moore was a member of St. Bernadette's Catholic Church in Harrington. He enjoyed watching football and baseball. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Mary Agnes (Moffett) Moore, 1998; and a brother, William Moore. He is survived by his two sons, Charles W. Moore Jr. of Dover, and Benjamin G. Moore of Middletown; three daughters, Mary Joann Brine of Middletown, Patricia Ondish of Elkton, Md., and Kimberly S. Winters of Dover; brother, G. Klein Moore Jr. of Clarks Summit, Pa.; two sisters, Betty Savage of Richmond, Va., and Jo Ann Galentine of Frederica; ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, April 9, at St. Bernadettes, 109 Dixon Street, Harrington. Friends visited Thursday evening at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover, and Friday from 9 to 10 a.m., at the church. Interment was in the Galena Cemetery, Galena, Md. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Vitas Hospice, 100 Commerce Dr, #302, Newark, DE 19713. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
