GREENWOOD - Charles W. Wilhelm, of Greenwood, died Saturday, June 14, 2008, at his home. He was 60.
Born at home near Denton, Md., Mr. Wilhelm was the son of the late Merle Blane Wilhelm and Florence May Smith Wilhelm.
Mr. Wilhelm had worked at the family sawmill and was a heavy equipment operator.
He had worked for the Sussex Soil Conservation, Killdee Construction in Cecil County, Md., Knipple's in Denton, and had farmed for Ronnie Webb in Greenwood.
He liked to fish, hunt, work on his pole beans in his garden, do mechanical work on motorcycles and tractors, and talking on the C.B. radio.
Mr. Wilhelm is survived by his wife, Emma Wilhelm of Greenwood; two daughters, Charlene Wilhelm and her companion Bruce Price of Greenwood and Lindsey Wilhelm at home; three sons, Harry Wilhelm and his wife Cindy of Greenwood, Charles G. Wilhelm of Greenwood, and Tyler Bartsch of Denton; two brothers, William Wilhelm of Federalsburg, Md., and James C. Wilhelm of Frederica; seven sisters, Anna Pinder of Bridgeville, Louise Kulhanek of Dover, Mary Ann Longfellow of Wyoming, Dolly Meredith of Greenwood, Barbara Hutson of Greensboro, Md., Hazel Longfellow of Milford, and Florence Sewell of Greensboro; and five grandchildren, Erica Smith, Cindy Smith, Dustin Owens, Christin Wilhelm, and Ashley Eastman.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Moore Funeral Home, P.A., 12 S. Second St., Denton where friends may call from 6-8 p.m. tonight.
The interment will be in the Wesley Church Cemetery in Burrsville, Md.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be given to Heartland Hospice Services, 365 Savannah Road, Lewes, DE 19958.
