Charles Staats III, 46

SMRYNA - Charles Staats III, 46, of Smyrna, passed away on Friday, Sept. 4, 2009, near his home. Born on April 7, 1963, in Dover, he was the son of Shirley and Charles Staats Jr. He graduated from Smyrna High School in 1982 and attended Kent Vo-Tech where he studied carpentry for four years. For the past five years, Charlie worked for Moon Nurseries in Warwick, Md. He loved deer hunting and country music. In addition to his parents, he is survived by four sisters, Sharlene Bartsch and her husband Frank of Townsend, Rosalie Martin and her husband Pierce of Smyrna, Jeannine Staats of Hartly, and Teresa Swartz and her husband John of Clayton; three nieces, five nephews and many dear friends. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, 212 N. Broad Street, Middletown, where family and friends may visit Tuesday evening from 7-9 p.m. Interment will follow in Townsend Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Smyrna High School FFA, 500 Duck Creek Parkway, Smyrna, DE 19977. Arrangements by Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, Middletown.
