CRUMPTON, Md. - Charles "Bobby" Squires, 78, of Crumpton, Md., died Nov. 18, 2010, in Hospice of Queen Anne's, Centreville, Md. Bobby was born on March 13, 1932, in McGinnis Corner, son of the late Robert and Pauline Cohey Squires. A lifetime resident of Queen Anne's County where he was a 1952 graduate of Sudlersville High School. His career as a mechanic included area car dealerships and marinas, including Eliason Motors, Cory Chrysler & Plymouth, Georgetown Yacht Basin and Langford Bay Marina. Bobby enjoyed hunting and fishing using archery and firearms. He became a Maryland Hunter Safety Instructor and a small arms instructor for the NRA. He was a life member of the North American Hunting Club and a member of the NRA. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Thelma Lemaster Squires in 2007. Bobby is survived by his daughter, Marie Todd and her husband Bill of Galena; two sons, Robert M. Squires and his wife Becky of Garner, N.C., and Tony L. Squires and his wife Kristin of Crumpton; and three step grandchildren, David, Steven, and Matthew Driscoll. Funeral service will be noon, Monday, Nov. 22, in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., Galena, where friends may call one hour prior. Burial in Crumpton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Queen Anne's, 255 Comet Dr. Centreville, MD 21617.
