Charles Paul Taggart passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2023, in New Castle, DE.
Charlie was born on July 6, 1944, to Robert and Bessie Taggart in Newark, NJ, where he spent his childhood. In 1982, he moved to Dover, DE. He loved working on cars as a mechanic. Eventually, he opened Woodside Auto Sales where he sold used cars for many years.
Charlie was kind and generous. He would do anything to help someone. He had a big heart. If you knew Charlie, you knew of his love of classic cars, diners, and walking on the boardwalk with his wife, Marcia. Most of all, Charlie loved to play his numbers!
Charlie loved spending time with his family and friends. He always enjoyed sharing stories. His famous wings were highly requested.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Marcia Morin; his children, Denise Taggart, Kelly Arcidiacono, Charles Taggart (Jenny), and Cheri Poppe (Brian); his stepsons, Scott Wilson (Jessi), Brian Wilson (Sydney), and Drew Wilson (Kate); his sister, Cathleen Dunn; and many grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert Taggart and Bessie Rommeihs; his seven brothers and a sister.
The funeral service will be at Torbert Funeral Home, 1145 E. Lebanon Rd., Dover, DE 19901, on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at 3 pm. A visitation will be from 1-3 pm. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to St. Jude's Hospital for Children in Charlie's name.
