MILFORD - Charles Osborne "Obby" Reed, of Milford, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016 at the Country Rest Home, Greenwood. Obby was born in Milford, the son of the late Charles Leroy and Pauline (Dawson) Reed. He was a graduate of Fork Union Military Academy in Virginia. He worked for the State of Delaware Department of Transportation in the engineering department as a construction manager, working for 41 years before retiring in February 1998. He also served in the Delaware Army National Guard. He enjoyed gardening, antiquing, camping and traveling with his wife Iva and family. He was a loving family man and was proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Iva A. Reed; two children, Anne Elizabeth "Beth" Neeman and her husband Frank, of Milford, and Jeffrey Reed and his wife, Judith, of Ellendale; three grandchildren, Dr. Kate Elizabeth Neeman and her fiancee', Nicholas Marvel, Jeffrey Scott Reed II and his wife, Christmas, and Lt. Branden Michael Reed, U.S.N.; and two great grandchildren, Arleigh Grace Reed and Jaxon Scott Reed. The family would like to thank the dedicated in home caretakers and the caring staff of the Country Rest Home for the many years of care they so willingly gave. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016 at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Milford Community Cemetery, N. Walnut Street, Milford. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association Delaware Valley Chapter, 399 Market Street, Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106 or to Compassionate Care Hospice, 248 E.
