Charles Herbert Shelton

Ocean Pines, Md. - Charles Herbert Shelton died March 30, 2018, at his home in Ocean Pines, Md. He was, born Jan. 6, 1947 in Wilmington to Patricia and Herbert Shelton. He married his Newark High School sweetheart, Dorothy Swan, in 1968.
He worked as a computer programmer for Huber's Bakery, a systems analyst for EDS and Continental American, and retired in 2002. He was a member of Newark Country Club and later a life-long member of Ocean Pines Country Club. He enjoyed traveling; golfing; boating; fishing; reading; and spending time with his wife, family and friends.
In 2015 he was diagnosed with ALS and passed away in his home in the presence of his family. He was a loving husband, father, Grandaddy, brother, and friend. He is survived by his wife, two sons, six grandchildren, and seven siblings.
Service will be held at Bethany UMC, on Wednesday 4/4/2018 at 10AM. In lieu of flowers please send donations to The ALS Association – DC/MD/VA Chapter, 30 W. Gude Dr., St. 1501, Rockville, MD 20850 or WC Library, Ocean Pines Branch, 11107 Cathell Rd, Berlin, MD 21811.
