Gathers, CMG Concrete Construction PENNSVILLE, N.J. - Charles Marsall Gathers (Charlie) was called home Sunday evening March 18, 2012. Charlie was born in Salem, N.J., on Feb. 29, 1964. Charlie was raised in Pennsville, N.J., the son of the late Jimmy L. Gathers Sr. and Carlene B. Bloxom, of Chincoteague, Va. As a young boy, Charlie participated in all sports, including baseball, football, and wrestling. From an early age, he was a real go getter. He always had a job, whether it was mowing lawns or bagging groceries at the local Acme. He graduated from Pennsville MemorialHigh School in 1982. Charlie Married his High School sweetheart, Colleen Kathryn (Toner) Gathers, in 1985. The young couple moved their family to Lewes, Del., (along Love Creek) in 1988, where Charlie established the CMG Concrete Construction business and remained owner/operator until his health would no longer allow him to continue. Charlie was an avid boater and waterman. When he was not running his company, he was on the water pulling crab pots or swimming in the ocean. He loved whiling away the hours with the light of his life, granddaughter Arieannah Gathers. Charlie was a lifelong Chocolate lab owner. If you knew Charlie, then you knew his girl Ginger. He was a loving, kind person with a smile that could out shine the sun. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. In addition to his father, Charlie was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy L. Gathers Jr. Charlie is survived by his Mother, Carlene Bloxom; his loving and devoted wife, Colleen (Toner) Gathers of Lewes, Del.; two sons, Charles Marshall Gathers Jr. of Melbourn, Fla., and Kyle James Gathers of Lewes; and granddaughter, Arieannah Gathers, also of Lewes. He also leaves two sisters, Giselle Huckoby, of Penns Grove, N.J., and Patricia Sulecki, of New Castle, Del.; a brother, Robert L. Gathers, of Pennsville, N.J.; and his grandmother, Beverly Gilbert of Mannington, N.J. There are also a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who will love and cherish his life and memory. Services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, at the Lewes Church of Christ, 15183 Coastal Highway, Milton. Friends and family may gather for fellowship at noon prior to the church service.
