Charles Franklin Cooper Sr.

Charles Franklin Cooper Sr., 85 SEAFORD - Charles Franklin Cooper Sr., 85, of Seaford, died Saturday, May 1, 2010, in Nanticoke Hospital, Seaford. He was born Jan. 26, 1925, in Sparks, Md., to the late John Thomas and Edna Marie Stiffler Cooper. Mr. Cooper was a farmer as well as an employee with the Caroline County Board of Education for over 10 years, retiring in 1986. He was a WWII Army Veteran. He attended Living Waters Assembly of Denton, MD. We would like to thank Carol Hignutt for her special help during Mr. Cooper's final days. He is survived by his two daughters, Joni Smith and husband Donald, and Willa C. Sprague and husband Richard; a daughter-in-law, Virginia Cooper; two sisters, Gladys Reynolds, and Evelyn Kelso and husband Herb; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret H. Cooper; son, Charles Cooper Jr.; daughter, Darlene Hill; brothers, Calvin Cooper, and Lawrence Cooper; sister, Edith Brunaugh; and grandson, Charles Cooper III. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Friday, May 7, in the Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, 106 W. Sunset Ave., Greensboro. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday and 1 to 2 p.m., Friday, in the funeral home. Interment will be in Greensboro Cemetery.
