FELTON - Charles F. "Butch" Young Sr. of Felton passed away Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 60. He was born May 8, 1948, in Goldsboro, Md., son of the late Walter and Pauline (Walls) Young. Charles was a self-employed contractor. He enjoyed pitching horseshoes and riding Harleys. Charles was a member of the Monday Night Kent County Horseshoe League and a past member of the First State Horseshoe Pitching Association. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Anna Marie Tribbett, in 1992; and four brothers, Paul Young, James Young, Jackie Young and Robert Young. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Marie Tribbett Young; a son, Charles F. Young II of Dover; two daughters, Ginnie Howdershelt of Camden and Melinda Young of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Paula Jean Wright of Felton; a stepson, Michael P. Pendexter of Magnolia; two sisters, Ellamae Correll and Ann Woody, both of Maryland; three brothers, Marvin Young and Allen Young, both of Camden, and David Young of Lincoln; grandchildren, Carrie Baker, Karen Henry, Justin Pendexter, Eric Howdershelt, Joshua Howdershelt, Aron M. Pendexter, Alicia M. Pendexter, Willie Young Jr., Whitney Young, Tyrek Young, Tyquin Young, Velencia Young and Sidney Young Jr.; and a great-grandson, Layne Henry. Services will be 8 p.m. Tuesday in Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may call two hours earlier. Burial will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Hopkins Cemetery, Felton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Heartland Hospice, 17577 Nassau Commons Blvd., Suite 103, Lewes, DE 19958.
