Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce joins Dover Jazzercise Fitness Center for ribbon cutting

DOVER — The Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting Ceremony for Dover Jazzercise Fitness Center Jan. 3 at 506 Jefferic Blvd.

Chamber members and friends joined owner and head instructor, Glenenise Parks, to celebrate the 1-year anniversary in their new location.

The new location allowed instructors to better accommodate the growing membership and its services for the Central Delaware community.

“This was an exciting year. We were happy to have our own space so we could expand our schedule and have a space dedicated to Jazzercise. We added stretch class to our schedules right away. Later, we also included a body weight specialty class. We've had a nutrition workshop with a licensed clinical dietitian. We've acquired a certified yoga instructor that comes in every Monday night,” said Ms. Parks.

“I've lived here for quite a while. My father was in the military so that is what brought me here. I absolutely find a lot of Joy in Jazzercise. I had a hard time sticking to a workout routine until I found Jazzercise. Once I became passionate about it and experienced the changes in my own life, I wanted to share that with others,” said Ms. Parks.

“We have volunteered at places like the Modern Maturity Center (MMC), Girls On the Run and The Dover Amish Bike Tour. We've volunteered to dance at MMC to raise funds for Meals on Wheels. We have donated to the Delaware military support and Modern Maturity Center. We hosted a Power in Pink fundraiser for the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition (DBCC). We donate 100 percent of profits made to DBCC. We've made special connections with all the organizations and plan to continue to work with them. We hope to find new ways to help within our community,” said Ms. Parks.
