• A silent fireworks and crafts program from 5:30-7:30 p.m. July 2 will offer a gentler way to celebrate Independence Day, at the Biggs Museum of American Art, off Federal Street in downtown Dover.
• Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge will host a free-fee weekend for nature lovers July 3-5. The refuge is on Whitehall Neck Road in Smyrna and is open 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
• Dover’s celebration of America’s 250th birthday will feature a parade, patriotic music, vendors and fireworks from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. July 4 on Legislative Mall.
• The inaugural Dover Hot Air Balloon Festival is coming to the grounds, and skies, of Dover Motor Speedway on U.S. 13 from 5-10 p.m. July 10 and 11. Balloon rides will be available for a fee, and a balloon glow and laser show will take place at 9 nightly. Tickets are limited and can be found at freshtix.com/events/dhbf.
• Bowers Bayside Bait and Kayak Rentals’ third annual youth fishing tournament for ages 4-17 is on tap July 11 in Bowers Beach. The cost is $15 in advance or $20 the day of the event. Prizes for all age groups will be given out. Contact bowersbaysidebait@gmail.com.
• The 47th annual Great Wyoming Buffalo Stampede’s 5K and 10K runs and 5K walk will start and end in Wyoming Park on Third Street on July 15, beginning at 7:30 a.m. A postrace party for competitors and spectators is set at Browns Wyoming Tavern on North Railroad Avenue. • The Milford Chamber of Commerce’s 32nd annual Golf Classic will tee off July 16 at the Southern Delaware Golf Club on South Rehoboth Boulevard in Milford. Visit milfordchamber.com for details.
• The 2026 Delaware State Fair is set to host its usual hot summer days, filled with competitions, concerts, food and rides at the Delaware State Fairgrounds on U.S. 13 in Harrington between July 23 and Aug. 1.

August
• The Wyoming Peach Festival will blossom with crafts, food, community organizations and a peach dessert contest throughout downtown, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 1. Shuttles will be available from W.B. Simpson Elementary School on Old North Road and from Wyoming Church on Wyoming Mill Road in Dover.
• Country singer Neal McCoy takes to the Loblolly Acres stage at 8 p.m. Aug. 12. The event will also include food trucks, adult spirits and yard games, on Turkey Point Road in Viola.
• Hippie Fest, the Milford Museum’s annual benefit, celebrates the music of the ’60s and ’70s from 3-8 p.m. Aug. 15 at the Causey Mansion Bed & Breakfast on Causey Avenue in Milford. Enjoy music and food, and don’t forget to wear tie-dye.
• The second annual Delaware Caribbean Carnival brings a parade, food trucks and a concert to Legislative Hall in downtown Dover from 1-5 p.m. Aug. 16.
• Harrington will celebrate its 46th annual Harrington Heritage Day with a food court, a car show, a model railroad display, a petting zoo, craft vendors, live music and tours of museums and buildings. The festival is throughout downtown from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 22.

September
• The Jeepers Back the Blue Jamboree brings law enforcement, Jeep enthusiasts, families and community members together for a two-day fundraiser at Dover Motor Speedway on U.S. 13. The event, benefiting the families of fallen police officers, will feature demonstrations, live music, a kids’ zone and more. It’s set for noon to 5 p.m. Sept. 11 and 12.
• A Fall Craft Show will take over the grounds of the Delaware Agricultural Museum on North Dupont Highway in Dover from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 12.
• Zach Bryan’s “With Heaven on Top” tour makes a stop at The Woodlands at Dover Motor Speedway on U.S. 13, with support from Alabama Shakes and Kings of Leon. The concerts will span Sept. 18 and 19.
• Southern Rock Wood Stock will bring legends from Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet and Blackfoot to the Delaware State Fairgrounds on U.S. 13 in Harrington at 1 p.m. Sept. 26. There will be seven bands, food trucks, T-shirts and RV and tent camping.
