Catherine M. Bythway

Bythway, 74 MILFORD - Catherine M. Bythway died Jan. 16, 2016. Born in Darby, Pa. she was the daughter of Robert W. Bythway and Catherine G. Wagner Bythway. She was a 1959 graduate of Dover High School and had graduated from Delaware Technical College in 1999. Prior to her retirement she had worked for the A&P Company (Super Fresh) for over thirty years. She had been a longtime active member of St. John The Apostle Church in Milford where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, Lector and Coordinator for the Confraternity Of Christian Doctrine. A kind and considerate person, she often could be found visiting the less fortunate and oftentimes homebound. She had served as a Cub Pack Den Mother and Little League Treasurer for several years. She enjoyed Bowling and was a fan of the Phila. Eagles. She will be missed by the many people whose lives she impacted. Cathy leaves her loving children D. David Hughes of Benton Harbor, MI, John M. Hughes and wife Clair of Lincoln, Del. and W. Andrew Hughes and wife Debra of Milford, Del. She is also survived by 11 Grandchildren and six Great Grandchildren. A Viewing and Visitation will take place Wednesday Jan. 20, 2016 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, 1175 S. State St. Dover, Del. 19901. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St. John The Apostle Church, Milford, DE. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dover. Family requests donations in her memory to the Building Fund at St. John The Apostle Church, 506 Seabury Ave., Milford, Del. 19963. Condolences may be made via www.ambruso.com
