Carrie Mae Burton

MILLSBORO - Carrie Mae Burton died Sat., Dec. 22, 2012 at the Atlantic Shore Nursing Center in Millsboro after a brief illness. Carrie was born Jan. 4, 1914 in Ross Point, Del. to the late Louis and Edna Baylis Burton. Carrie worked many years as a housekeeper for the Murray & Sipple families. Carrie later served as a foster grandmother at Howard T. Ennis School & the Stockley Center in Georgetown. Carrie was a member of Dickerson chapel AME Church. She is survived by her daughter, Jean and George Bishop, of Millsboro; son, Edward Washington, of Millsboro; sister, Mary Allene Broughton, of Millsboro; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. Service will be held at 11 a.m. Sat., Dec. 29, 2012 at the Dickerson Chapel AME Church, Dupont Hwy., Millsboro, DE 19966. Friends may call the church one hour prior to service. The Rev. Dr. Gerald N.
