EASTON, Md. - Carole Jean Sherwood of Easton died on Monday, Sept. 16, 2013 at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. She was 67. Carole was born on December 5, 1945 in Baltimore, Maryland. She was the daughter of the late Carl R. Frampton and Ruth E. Muncey Wessel. Carole attended Caroline County public schools including North Caroline High School in Ridgley. She was a former secretary for Dr. Derakshini as well as Preston Trucking for over 19 years. She enjoyed bowling, dancing, bingo, cooking and working with crafts. She was preceded in death by her husband, James J. "Shorty" Sherwood, who died in 2008; and her sister, Marge A. Stafford. She is survived by a daughter, Penny Lea Buchanan and her husband, John "J.D.", of Preston; two granddaughters, Jennifer L. Buchanan of Preston and Heather N. Buchanan of Laurel, Md.; three brothers, Willard T. "Dick" Frampton of Joppatown, Md., Larry C. Frampton and Ronald R. Frampton, both of Easton; two sisters, Lea F. Wheatman and her husband, Bob, of Denton, and Patricia D. Sippel and her husband, Richard, of Selbyville, Del.; a step-daughter, Lori Ann Sherwood of Virginia; several nieces and nephews; a very close friend, Maggie Daniels; and her loving pet, Rebel. A funeral service will 2 p.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at the Chapel of the Maryland Eastern Shore Veteran's Cemetery near Hurlock. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association National Headquarters, 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Suite 800, Washington, DC 20004.
