SMYRNA - Carol Emily Burns passed away with her loved ones by her side on Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017 at Christiana hospital.
She was born on Mar. 15, 1958 in Wilmington, the daughter of the late L. Irving Hutchison, Jr. and Lorraine Hutchison.
Carol began her career working for the DuPont Company and transitioned successfully into the field of real estate in the mid 90's. Everyone knew her for her incredible artistic talents so it was no surprise that she ventured into business for herself at Uncorked Canvas Parties, inspiring others to be their best artists.
In addition to her parents, her brother, Irving Hutchison and her stepson, Curt Burns, preceded her in death.
Carol is survived by her loving husband, Curt; her sisters, Linda Brannock, Joyce Manwiller and Gail Beutler; her daughter, Candice Fifer; her two step-daughters, Beth Cole and Melanie Burns as well as their spouses and her eight grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 South Main Street in Smyrna. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m.
Burial will be privately held.
Condolence letters may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com
