Carol Ann Santich

GREENWOOD - Carol Ann Santich, of Greenwood, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial. She was 60. Mrs. Santich worked as a CNA for Country Rest Home of Greenwood, where she was known as a dedicated and hard working employee. In years past, she also worked as a bank teller, helped her husband with his marine electronics business and family farm, worked for the state as a bookkeeper, and owned her own cleaning business. She received a Master of Arts degree from Hofstra University. She was known for her bubbly personality and willingness to help others in need. She constantly went out of her way to help others, and everyone who met her loved her. Her generous, loving, and honest nature were the characteristics that set her apart from everyone else. She will be sorely missed. Mrs. Santich was a member of From the Heart Church Ministries. She was preceded in death by a father, Wilfred Gildersleeve. She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Matthew Santich of Greenwood; and mother, Mary Gildersleeve of New York. Services will be 1 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010, in Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 S. DuPont Hwy., Harrington, where a visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
