Caring Hands Helping Accepting New Clients

Posted by barbcroos@gmail.com

The organization recently moved from a Magnolia warehouse to a house at 2 N Bradford Street, at the corner of N Bradford and W Division streets. Because of the limited space, CHHH can no longer accept donated items such as clothing, appliances, small furniture, footwear and lines.

The office is open on Tuesdays from 10 to 2 and staffed entirely by volunteers. We are accepting school supply donations for one of our two programs – Heart and Sole/Back To School. Donations should be delivered any Tuesday before July 30. We are hoping to provide 150 back packs filled with school supplies Each child, depending on his/her age, will receive a shoe gift card valued between $45 and $55. Volunteers to sort and count supplies are welcome any Tuesday until August 4th.

CHHH’s second program is Christmas gifts for the children which will kick off in September. Volunteers are needed to shop for gifts that the parents request. Details are provided such as size, color, long or short sleeve, type of sock or footwear, what toy or game or book, etc. Depending on the child’s age, the gift bag value is $125 to $150. The family will receive a $150 food gift card.

Because of the generous contributions from individuals, companies, foundations, CHHH is able to expand its client family base from 130 to 150 this year; this could be 300 children.
