98 years young Canada Lidle Styers received her heavenly dance card from her Beloved on Feb. 23, 2016. She is survived by two sons, Curt Lidle and Christopher Lidle; three daughters, Catherine Varian, Carolyn Persson, and Candy Scisco; grandchildren, Kevin Varian, Kenneth Varian, Heather Grant, Gabriel Lidle, Darcy Lidle, Krista Lidle, Colleen Ryan, Jesse Ryan, Michelle Parker, Nicole Lidle, Adam Scisco, Erica Napolitano, Allison Rodriguez, Robert Scisco; and 19 great-grandchildren. Canada packed a lot of living into her 98 years. Born in Newark, N.J., she relocated to Milford, Del. and added to her fold her adopted family, Eli, Sher, Simon and Pedro Valenzuela, and Ian and Mia Littlejohn. Always a woman ahead of her time, she inspired others in her own way to new levels of patriotism, health, faith and a "you can do it!" attitude. Her heart and mind were never idle. She could always be found with a trowel, shovel, paintbrush, lawnmower or what have you in her hands, making her world and the world of others a more beautiful place. Intensely independent, Canada lived and died on her own terms. She leaves this life richer for those who knew and loved her. Special thanks to the wonderful caretakers of the Courtland Manor in Dover, Del. Among Canada's possessions was found this poem, which signifies all she believed in and stood for: "Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush, I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight I am the soft star that shines at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry I am not there, I did not die." Services will be private; a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
