FEDERALSBURG, Md. - Calvin Brooks Coulbourn, of Federalsburg, died on Jan. 20, 2009, from a short illness. Mr. Coulbourn was born on June 25, 1923 in Federalsburg, to John Coulbourn and Cora Lyons Coulbourn. Calvin grew up in Wilmington, Del., and served honorably in the Army during World War II. He worked 16 years at Wilmington Enamel Company. Calvin then moved to Rifle, Colo., for Gilbert Corp., where he worked under ground in shaft mining for three years. He later moved back to Federalsburg, where he made his home. Calvin worked at Seawatch International in Easton for 23 years as a Sanitation Manager. He retired to Florida at 81 years old. Calvin loved his family dearly, he also loved animals. He enjoyed restoring old homes and was an expert at painting and wallpapering. Calvin also enjoyed horse back racing and watching old movies. Calvin is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Susan (McCormick) Coulbourn of Beckley, W.Va; five children, Patricia Ruger and her husband Big Tommy L. Ruger, of Wilmington, Del., Marty Coulbourn of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., Patricia Harding of Dover, Del., SMSgt Mike Snodgrass of Dover, Del., Tammy Robinson of Crestview, Fla.; brother, Johnny Coulbourn of Wilmington, Del.; sister, Catherine Cudmore of Silver Springs; eight grandchildren, Thomas L. Ruger of Wilmington, Del., Lisa Ann Powell of Pennsylvania, Danny Wayne Harding Jr. of Maryland, Chandler Enger, Dover, Del., Rachel McCormick, Ohio, Ahmeiya Brown of Maryland, Torri and Angel Robinson of Crestview, Fla.; three great-grandchildren, Robert Michael Powell of Pennsylvania, Abagaile and Ethan Ruger of Wilmington, Del. Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday January 24, 2009 at the Dover Air Force Base Chapel, Dover, where friends may call one hour prior. Arrangements by Torbert Funeral Chapels, Dover, Del.
