C. Almira Wilkerson

MILTON – C. Almira Wilkerson, 88, of Milton, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016 at Harbor Healthcare in Lewes. She was born in Milton on October 21, 1928 to the late Hall D. and Clara (Richards) Reed. Mrs. Wilkerson operated the Broadkill Store from 1956 until 1966 and was the bookkeeper for the family business, John E. Wilkerson Electrical Company. She enjoyed camping at Treasure Beach in Fenwick Island and gardening. But most of all, Almira was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all! In addition to her parents, Almira is preceded by her husband, John E. Wilkerson, in 2006; and a sister, Ann Clifton. Almira is survived by her daughter, Jackie Hudson and her husband Wade, of Milton; grandchildren, Lisa Garrison, Allen Callaway and Wade 'Buddy' Hudson, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Noah and Liam Garrison; siblings, Thelma Davidson, Charlotte Bailey, Hall D. 'Sonny' Reed, Jr. and his wife Jeanette, and Howard Reed and his wife Donna; along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 1 pm in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton, with a time of visitation beginning at 12 noon. Interment will be at Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery, Milton. Memorial gifts can be sent to Delaware Hospice, 200 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
