Posted

DOVER — A 56-year-old Dover man was charged following a burglary at Driftwood Spirits on Saturday.

Dover police spokesman Master Cpl. Ryan Schmid said officers were called to the store at 153 S. Bradford St. for an alarm at 3:37 a.m. Upon arrival, they found the front door open. Police determined that a suspect had entered the business through the drywall/ductwork and, once inside, removed merchandise, then left.

James Smith was later taken into custody without further incident in connection with the case. He was charged with third-degree burglary, theft under $1,500 and criminal mischief.

He was released on $2,000 unsecured bail.
