DOVER - Bruce H. Peachey "Peach" Jr., of Dover, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008, with the love of his life by his side. Born in Wilmington, he was the son of the late Bruce H. Peachey Sr. He retired from the Delaware State Police after serving 22 years and worked part time in the Internal Affairs Department for the Department of Corrections for the State of Delaware. He was a dog lover and played a big role in dog rescues especially German Shepards, enjoyed working out, loved riding his Harley Davidson with Debi and making people happy. He had a great interest in antique cars and fire trucks. Peach was a true Patriot and touched many hearts in so many ways. He was well known and respected by his fellow Troopers. Known for his sense of humor and gorgeous smile and making his girls laugh he will be sadly missed. He is survived by his mother, Lois Gray of New Jersey; brother and sister-in-law, Glenn and Aniko Peachey and their two sons, Enzo and Rocco Peachey all of Delaware; a sister and brother-in-law, Sherri and Dave Mitchell and their two daughters, Julia and Christina Mitchell all of Pennsylvania; a daughter, Sarah Berks of Virginia; and the love of his life, Debi Smith; her daughter, Felicia Baker and Lexi and Shank their dogs of Dover. Peach was a member of the Masonic Lodge 35, Life Member of the National Rifle Association (NRA), Life Member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Life Member of the Law Enforcement Alliance of America and Life Member of H.O.G. Funeral services will be held at The Assembly of God in Dover at 11 a.m. Friday, where friends may call two hours earlier. Burial will follow at Sharon Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bruce Peachey Contribution Fund at The Delaware State Police Federal Credit Union.
