Bruce Greenlee Frazier

MAGNOLIA - Bruce Greenlee Frazier passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at home. He was 94. Mr. Frazier was born July 17, 1920 in Felton to the late Virgil Frazier, Sr. and Eva Greenlee Frazier. He graduated from Felton High School and the University of Delaware. He served in the United States Army during WWII in Panama and Puerto Rico. Mr. Frazier worked in the agricultural feed industry in Dover and Millsboro. Mr. Frazier then went to work for the Federal Government as a technician for the Soil Conservation Service in Dover. Later he was the County Supervisor of Farmers Home Administration in Sussex County, as well as a 4-H Agent in Sussex County. He was a member of both Caesar Rodney and Magnolia Ruritan Clubs and the Dover Stamp Club. Mr. Frazier was club president, zone governor, district governor and National Director of Ruritan National. Mr. Frazier was also the first All-Star District Governor of Ruritan National in 1976. He was one of the three original incorporators of the Delaware Agricultural Museum where he served as director on the board for over 20 years. He was also a member of Club 55 and Modern Maturity bowling leagues. Mr. Frazier was a member of the Magnolia United Methodist Church where he was superintendent of the Sunday School, trustee of the board, head usher and bell ringer. He was a trustee of the Barratt's Chapel Cemetery from 1965-2010 and a member of the Delaware Century Farm board. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Doris Mcllvaine Frazier; and brothers, M. Jack Frazier, Virgil R. Frazier, Jr., and W. Glenn Frazier. He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, B. Gerald and Christina Frazier of Greer, S.C., and James and Victoria Frazier of Magnolia; granddaughters, Laura Frazier and her husband Andrew Hynes, of Martinsville Va., and Susan Burgess and her husband Lester, of Greer S.C.; and his great-grandson, Parker Hynes of Martinsville Va.; and brother, Ray E. Frazier of Midland Mich. Extended family would include the caregivers who cared for him in recent years, Sally and Ted, Sarah, Susie, Robin, Cheryl, Kim, Lisa and Nathan. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover, DE. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Barratt's Chapel Cemetery at the family's convenience. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in his memory to Magnolia United Methodist Church, PO Box 256, Magnolia, DE 19962.
