BRIDGEVILLE - Robert Franks, 53, of Bridgeville was arrested for the murder of his wife, Cynthia Moss-Franks, Delaware State Police said on Tuesday.
Spokesman Senior Cpl. Leonard DeMalto said investigation began on Feb. 17 regarding the murder of Ms. Moss-Franks, 57, at her residence on Champions Drive in Heritage Shores. Through investigation, detectives identified Mr. Franks as the suspect, police said.
Bridgeville Police were initially called to the scene for a welfare check after family members were concerned they had been unable to contact Ms. Moss-Franks, police. Officers entered the home and found her deceased, police said.
An arrest warrant on a first-degree murder charge was obtained, and police said Mr. Franks was taken into custody on Monday in Philadelphia. Philadelphia Police and Pennsylvania State Police made the arrest, authorities said.
Mr. Franks was held in Pennsylvania as a fugitive and awaited extradition to Delaware, police said.
Detectives from the Homicide Unit are still searching for Cynthia’s silver 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS with Delaware vanity tag “YCANTI.” It is believed to be in the Philadelphia area, police said.
