Brett Lee Bivens, 50 DOVER - Brett Lee Bivens, of Dover, died Saturday, May 8, 2010, at home. He was 50. Mr. Bivens was born April 24, 1960, in Chambersburg, Pa., to Patsy Bivens and the late Richard Bivens. He served in the United States Air Force for 10 years. After the service he worked as a CAO Management Specialist at the Dover Air Force Base Commissary and also worked part time at the Shore Stop in Camden. Mr. Bivens was amateur radio, electronics, and a WWII history buff. He was a great father and husband and just loved his children very much. Mr. Bivens is survived by his mother, Patsy Bivens of Chambersburg, Pa.; his wife of 15 ½ years, Heather Bivens of Dover; three sons, Matthew and Andrew Bivens, both of Cary, N.C., and Steven Bivens of Dover; two daughters, Marie Owen and Katherine Bivens, both of Dover; brother, Kent Bivens of West Chester, Pa.; and brother-in-law, Andy Owen of Dover. Funeral services will be 8 p.m., Thursday evening, May 13, 2010, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover, where friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the memory of Brett Bivens c/o Dover Federal Credit Union, 1075 Silver Lake Blvd., Dover, DE 19904, for the children's education fund. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
