DOVER - Brenda H. Keyes, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015 at Kent General Hospital in Dover, Del. Brenda was born in Riverhead, New York. Brenda, prior to her illness worked as an administrative clerk with Suffolk County Department of Health. She first came to Dover while attending Wesley College, where she completed her associate's degree. She later continued her education and received a bachelor's degree from Long Island University at South Hampton, New York. Friends described Brenda as a kind lady who loved music. She especially enjoyed singing. Throughout her life she was a member of several choirs. Brenda was also an active member of the Independent Odd Fellows, Golden Rule Lodge #17 and Hope Rebekah Lodge #24 in Milton, DE. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Brenda was preceded in death by her parent's, Orlando "Lannie" Somers Keyes and Teresa Hawkes Keyes. She will be missed by her long time friends, and caregiver's, Jonnie and Philip Stubbolo with whom Brenda lived for the last nine years. She will be remembered by dear friends Kelly Stubbolo and Abbie Walters, Stephen Dunkle, Greg Smith and a special long life friend, Susan McHume whom she met in the first grade now of Lady Island, South Carolina. She will also be remembered by extended family in New York and Massachusetts, especially cousins, Roger Keyes, Hollis Warner and Brice Bucholz and their families. A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015, at 4:00 p.m. at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming DE. Guests may gather 1 hour prior to the service. Memorials in her name may be made to the Hope Rebekah Lodge # 24.
