The state being potentially short on cash is not a comfortable position to be in. And so, it should be a reminder that, when individuals find themselves in exactly the same situation, they do what is necessary: Contain costs. Budget cuts are a fact of life.
Do not approve proposals of commercialization based on their potential to generate vast sums of revenue. Continued decision making in the interest of the public is an obligation for those we elect.
Those developers asking for special considerations will always be present. Resisting their “promises” is the public’s absolute expectation of our government officials.
