Booker retires, Inglis takes over Delaware Safety Council

NEW CASTLE — Julian “Pete” Booker recently announced that he is retiring as executive director of the Delaware Safety Council.

Mr. Booker has led the safety council since 2019. Mr. Booker originally retired from his long-time role as president of Delmarva Broadcasting Co. in July of 2015.

“Pete’s decades of experience in Delaware media enabled him to leave a significant footprint in a short tenure with the Delaware Safety Council,” said DSC Board Co-Chair Sam Waltz.

After his initial retirement from Delmarva Broadcasting, he and his wife, Susan, became full time residents of Lewes.

Mr. Booker, however, is not going too far; he is transitioning from executive director of Delaware Safety Council to the board of the century-old non-profit.
Stacey Inglis was chosen as Mr. Booker’s successor.

Ms. Inglis, DSC’s first female director, began her new position on April 1.
For the past five years, Ms. Inglis was vice president of Marketing/Historic and Cultural Affairs with the Tilton Mansion which is home to the University and Whist Club. Prior to that, Ms. Inglis was senior vice president of Marketing/Research and Development with Steuben Foods headquartered in Buffalo, New York.

Throughout her career, she has held various executive management positions in the food and beverage, automotive and hospitality industries. She is certified in non-profit management through the University of Delaware.
