Blue: Results of inquiry into Dover mayor, chief need to be shared now

Posted

After reading multiple news articles from different media sites and various letters published in the Daily State News, I am writing to formally express my concern regarding the lack of transparency and communication by Dover City Council and the city solicitor surrounding the inquiry into the Dover Fraternal Order of Police lodge’s allegations pertaining to the mayor and police chief, and the results of the independent investigation conducted by 21st Century Policing Solutions.

Despite repeated inquiries and the passage of a reasonable amount of time since the investigation’s conclusion, the results have not been made available to the public. This lack of disclosure undermines public trust and raises questions about accountability in our local government.

This debacle is starting to remind me of the recent televised Anthony Fauci hearing, during which he pleaded the Fifth on every question asked.

As a resident and taxpayer, I respectfully request: a clear explanation for the delay in releasing the investigation findings, a definitive timeline for when the full report will be made publicly accessible and confirmation that all relevant details will be disclosed, except where prohibited by law.

Transparency is essential to maintaining the integrity of our city’s governance. I urge council to act promptly in providing the requested information, so residents can have confidence in the processes meant to serve them.
