Delaware shook off a slow start to down North Carolina A&T, 62-54, in CAA men’s basketball on Saturday afternoon.

The Blue Hens bounced back from a tough loss on Thursday night at Elon to down the Aggies for the second time this season.

Halfway through the first half, Delaware trailed the Aggies by a 20-11 margin.
But the Hens cut that deficit to 28-25 by halftime before out-scoring North Carolina A&T, 39-26, in the second half.

Gerald Drumgoole, Jr. netted a team-high 23 points for Delaware with Jalun Trent adding 10 after shooting 4-for-4 from the field.

The Hens (9-5 CAA, 17-10 overall) shot just 5-of-23 from three-point range but were 18-of-28 from inside the arc.

With 17 victories, Delaware matched its win total for all last season when it finished 17-16.

The Aggies, coached by former Delaware coach Monte Ross, are 5-9 in the CAA, 7-20 overall.

The Hens return home on Thursday to host first-place Charleston.
