CAMDEN — A 52-year-old Dover bicyclist died when he was struck by a vehicle Wednesday.
Delaware State Police said that, at approximately 9:17 p.m., a 2015 Nissan Altima was traveling south on Old Camden Road, just west of the South Dupont Highway intersection.
For reasons under investigation, Gregory Robinson attempted to cross the intersection from east to west, police said, traveling directly in front of the Altima. As a result, the car collided with the bicyclist in the southbound lane of Old Camden Road.
Police said Mr. Robinson was taken to an area hospital by ambulance, where he later died.
The driver of the Altima, a 22-year-old Camden woman, was not injured.
The area was closed to traffic for approximately four hours.
