Betty S. Conaway, 77 MILLSBORO - Betty S. Conaway, age 77, of Millsboro, passed away on May 22, 2010, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. Betty was a life long member of the Dickerson Chapel AME Church, Millsboro, she was a member of the Steward Board and Lay Organization. Betty was a member of the Rehab Court # 3, Heroines of Jericho, Clarksville, Delaware, holding several seats including Past, Most Ancient Matron. She was a member for over 25 years of the Milton Assembly # 81, Order of the Golden Circle P.H.A. She was Past Loyal Lady Ruler. Betty worked at the Stockley Center for 29 years before having to retire due to medical reasons. She loved to cook and entertain family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Hilda Short Jones; and a brother Ronson Short. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Andrew Martin Conaway; one daughter, Sheredia Langhorne of Riverdale, Ga.; one god child, Byron Allen of Harrington; brothers, Donald Short; and his companion, Colette of Bethesda, Md., and Bruce Short of Philadelphia, Pa.; grandchildren, Katryna and Lauren Langhorne; many nieces, nephews, cousins, along with extended family and friends, also survive her. A Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Thursday May 27, 2010, at Dickerson Chapel AME Church, Rt. 113, Millsboro, where friends may call one hour prior. Rev. Richard Worthy will officiate. Interment will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro.
