Betty Louise Bowers

CLAYTON - Betty Louise Bowers, of Clayton, passed away Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, in Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 78. Mrs. Bowers was born June 17, 1932, in Culpepper, Va., the daughter of the late Weldon and Lena Cline. She was a homemaker who enjoyed playing Bingo and dealing poker for the VFW. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Francis Conners. She is survived by two sons, Rick Daniels and his wife Lisa of Lakeland, Ga., and Michael Bowers of Clayton; two brothers, Frank Cline and his wife Francis of Fredericksburg, Va., and Charles Cline and his wife Elizabeth of Cape Coral, Fla.; a sister, Dorothy Grizzle of Fredericksburg, Va.; eight grandchildren, Michele Cole, Richard Daniels, Jr., and Allen, Tyler, Brandon, and David Daniels, Michael Bowers, Jr., and Lena Bowers Archer; several nieces and nephews; ex brother-in-law, William Bowers of Clayton; ex sister-in-law, Doris Dunning, also of Clayton; and her companion of 9 years, Willard P. Legar of Kenton. Services will be Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, at 1 p.m. in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main Street, Smyrna, where friends may call one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery Smyrna. Condolence letters may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com
