Bridgeville - Betty Lee (Tallent) Vannicola went to be with the Lord on Friday Nov. 13, 2015, after an unexpected event at her home near Bridgeville. Betty was born on June 05, 1943, in Greenwood, Sussex County, Del., the daughter of the late Walter Edward Tallent and Myrtle Bliss (Sanford) Tallent of Greenwood. Betty's husband, John William Vannicola, preceded her in death in 2006. Betty was a devoted Wife, Mother, and Grandmother, and was liked and loved by many and will be greatly missed by all. Betty faithfully attended The Bethel Worship Center in Seaford, Delaware. Betty was also a founding Charter Member of Delaware's "Caleb Ross", United Daughters of the Confederacy, Chapter #2635 in Seaford, whom she qualified for membership through her Great Grandfather's service, Private, George William Christopher Tallent, of the 9th Virginia Calvary, Company "K". Betty enjoyed camping, working in her garden at home, and being surrounded by her daughters and grandchildren at home. Betty was proceeded in death by three siblings, James "Jimmy" Tallent of Greenwood, Francis A. (Tallent) Webb of Bridgeville, and Edward "Junior" Tallent of Salisbury, Maryland. Betty is survived by three daughters, Ms. Laura Lynn (Vannicola) Wilson, of the Bridgeville home place, Jennifer Renee (Vannicola) and husband, David S. Truitt, of Bridgeville, and Melissa Lorraine (Vannicola) and husband, James R. Picconi, of Greenwood, Del.; Three brothers, Steve Tallent and wife Brenda of Greenwood, Roger Tallent and wife Sharon of Bridgeville, and Roland Tallent and his wife Dolly of Lincoln, Del.; Two sisters, Donna Faye, and husband Dean Justice of Bridgeville, and Sandy and her husband Bill Jones of Greenwood, Del. Two Aunts, Sue King, and Nancy Webb, along with several cousins and many friends; Two Sisters-in-law, Ms. Jean Louise Vannicola of Milford, Dorothy (Vannicola) Baker and her husband Lloyd of Pot Nets, and two brothers-in-law, James Vannicola of Illinois, and Harry Philip Vannicola, Sr. and wife Mary Lou, of N.Y.; Seven grandchildren, Sarah Emily Wilson, Zachary Tyler Truitt, Jacob Robert Truitt, Hannah Faith Picconi, Adam James Picconi, Rachel Noel Picconi, and Elizabeth Grace Picconi. Along with several nieces and nephews. The Christian viewing will be held at the Bethel Worship Center, 26648 Sussex Highway, Seaford, Delaware 19973, where friends and family may call on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015, from 11 a.m. till 1pm, with funeral service starting at 1:00 p.m. Entombment will be in Saint Johnstown Methodist Church Cemetery, Greenwood, Del. In lieu of flowers, the family requested memorial contributions to The Bethel Worship Center, in memory of Betty Lee (Tallent) Vannicola. Arrangements by Fleischauer Funeral Home, Greenwood, DE.
