Betty L. Toomey, 79 MILLSBORO - Betty L. Toomey, passed away Friday, January 29, 2010, in Harrison Senior Living in Georgetown. She was 79. Mrs. Toomey was born December 1, 1930 in Laurel, to the late Andrew and Edith Carey Whaley. She was a homemaker and a member of the St. John's United Methodist Church, Springfield Crossroads, near Georgetown. Mrs Toomey was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Toomey in 1988. She is survived by three sons, A. Ray Toomey and wife, Phyllis of Georgetown, Robert "Bud" Toomey and wife, Joanne of Seaford, and Jay W. Toomey and wife, Cathy of Georgetown; two sisters, Marie Hammond and husband, Asher of Dagsboro and Dollie Moore of Clarksville; three grandchildren, Dale, Kristin, and Chris Toomey; and a great-granddaughter, Kendra Toomey. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 2, at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call one hour prior. Friends may also call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, February 1. Rev. Carol E. Svecz will officiate the service. Interment will be at Millsboro Cemetery, State Street, Millsboro.
